Peekskill Meteorite

A slice of the Peekskill Meteorite weighing 67.5 grams and measuring 65 by 55 and 7 mm thin with Red-Paint, of the 1980 Chevy Malibu, on the crust. This is the result of the impact itself through the trunk of the car.

This slice is accompagnied by on of the 15 actual cast replica of the original peekskill meteorite.

History: The Peekskill meteorite is a 12.4 kg meteorite that fell in Peekskill, New York, on Oct. 9, 1992, penetrating the trunk of a 1980 Chevy Malibu. The meteorite was witnessed. This is one of the very few meteorites that was caught on video tape (at least 14 amateur videotapes for Peekskill).
