The Wabar meteorite is associated with the Wabar Crater located in the Saudi Arabia (Ash Sharqiyah). This iron meteorite is classified IIIAB. The Wabar meteorite crater is deeply located in the Rub' al Khali, at a site known as Wabar.
Known as the "Empty Quarter" the impact site is in a small area with a very difficult access. This is why it was known to the local Bedouins for generations before it was rediscovered by the British explorer H. Philby in 1932.
